Is the Machine Worth It? Four Numbers to Work Out

Is the Machine Worth It? Four Numbers to Work Out

Labour, changeover and downtime, rework and material loss, and effective output. No preset payback promise: the estimate uses your real production data.

Labour

Headcount × hours per person × hourly labour cost. Compare the spend that can be reduced over the same period.

Changeover & downtime

Setup time + waiting time + hand-over time between processes. Count the effective hours lost to changeovers and waiting.

Rework & material loss

Rework + scrap + other non-conformance losses, converted to money, without counting the same loss twice.

Effective output

Good parts per hour × effective production hours. Assess added output separately to avoid double counting.

Estimated payback (months) = total project investment ÷ net monthly saving, after deducting added running and maintenance costs. The estimate depends on actual production data and is not a guaranteed payback.

You don't have to pick a machine first.

Send us product photos, material specs and your target process. We confirm the process route, the equipment type and a workable configuration.
